Titane
So I’m a little behind on my reviews although I have kept up with watching the movies for the challenge. In truth, I’ve just been exhausted this month, getting worn out by the things I said I would do 2 months ago and then promptly forgot about.
I showed the film list to a friend at the end of September and when he saw that I was watching this film, he said “Titane is very, very French.” I feel like perhaps there were any number of other things that he could’ve warned me about in this film like maybe when the titular character is fucking cars, or perhaps the birth scene with a half metal baby, but y’know it IS very French to be fair.
The plot’s a bit vague although it does have some really top notch acting from Agathe Rousselle and Vincent Lindon. Body horror isn’t quite my favorite but if it’s yours, you’ll find something to love here. When I gave this a grade, I tried to compare it to the last film’s grade (Dead Ringers, a C+) - did I enjoy watching this more than the double dose of Jeremy Irons? Yeah, yeah I did.
Score: B-
